Inspirations of Divine Mercy

Lead me, Your hand of mercy resting on my shoulder. Shepherd me from my wretchedness. Purify me in Your love.   Go and learn what this text means:  ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’  I have come to call not the righteous but sinners. Matthew 9:13

Sacred blood dripping on the hard clay. He does not cry out for mercy, yet He is mercy. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3

He is love, He is mercy, He pours out grace on those willing to receive and He offers mercy to those who ask. Know, then, that the Lord, your God, is God:  the faithful God  who keeps covenant mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and keep his commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9

Good shepherd, you have beckoned us to come to you, to step out of the shadows of life. Help us to carry the slivers of our struggles, knowing you are beside us always, carrying the world's salvation. except from 'Is Your Cross...' SRC 2026 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:11

  Unwittingly, the hatred of many has given love to more. And the grace that pours from His wounds will forever change the world. except from 'Grace From His Wounds' SRC 2016 Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”   And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34

Trust in the generous owner of the vineyard, for in His mercy He invites even the lowly to the harvest. “The owner replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am not treating you unfairly . Did you not agree with me to work for a denarius?     Take your pay and leave. I have chosen to pay the latecomers the same as I pay you.   Am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’   Thus, the last will be first and the first will be last.” Matthew 20:13-16

Does your cross remind you that He died for every sin, or only that He rose? It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,   for the sun was darkened. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two.   He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last. Luke 23:44-46

Jesus is our hope. He is the gate, the narrow door we long to pass through. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.   But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14

It is often that we swing our own hammer, targeting a spike with each downward motion. Sin pierces the hands and feet of our Lord. Each wound bears our names. At the appointed time, while we were still helpless, Christ died for the ungodly.   Indeed, it is seldom that anyone will die for a just person, although perhaps for a good person someone might be willing to die.   Thus, God proved his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8

Lord, help me not to seek the rewards of this world, nor the homage of men. But give me the desire for your mercy alone. Whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may observe them doing so. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward.   Matthew 6:5

Praise the one who sows seed in the garden and nourishes each plant with His word. “Listen! A sower went out to sow.   As he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up.   Other seed fell on rocky ground, where there was little soil. It sprouted quickly, since the soil had no depth,   but when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it lacked roots, it withered away.   Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it produced no crop.   But some seed fell onto rich soil and brought forth grain, increasing and yielding thirty, sixty, and a hundred times what was sown.” Mark 4:4-8

A sonnet brought to life by the birds of the air, as a veil of darkness is pulled away, by He who created their song. I waited patiently for the Lord ;      then he stooped down and heard my cry.   He raised me up from the desolate pit,      out of the mire of the swamp; he set my feet upon a rock,      giving me a firm footing.   He put a new song in my mouth,      a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:1-3

Sing Glories to the Father, for He seeks to purify all who long for Him. Shout praises to the Almighty, the one who is eternal and who molded you in the palm of His hand. Can a woman forget the infant at her breast; or feel no compassion for the child of her womb? Even should she forget,      I will never forget you. 16  Behold, I have inscribed your name      on the palms of my hands;      your walls are continually before my eyes. Isaiah 49:15-1 6

We are beggars before you, Lord, on our knees, humbly pleading for your mercy. Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Psalm 51:1

Lord, have mercy on those whose cross has become too heavy. As they went out, they encountered a man from Cyrene,   named Simon,  and they forced him to carry the cross. Matthew 27:32

Speak from your true heart, where simplicity takes root and your prayer will be cherished. This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven,      hallowed be your name.   Your kingdom come. Your will be done      on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.   And forgive us our debts      as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation,      but deliver us from the evil one.’ Matthew 6:9-13

Sit at the feet of the teacher, listening to His words and receiving the better part. One thing is necessary.  Mary has chosen the better part. It won’t be taken away from her. Luke 10:42

If I center my thoughts on You, Lord, and not on myself, my soul finds the peace I have longed for. O Lord , you grant peace to those who are steadfast      because of their trust in you. Isaiah 26:3

One thing we should ask, one thing we should seek, to dwell in His house all the days of our life. One thing I ask from the Lord ,      this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord      all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord      and to seek him in his temple. Psalm 27:4

There is joy, Moving from one season to the next, Knowing, without doubt, that the Lord leads. To every thing there is a season,  and a time to every purpose under the heaven Eccl 3:1

Hallowed, the Father's name, perfect and sacred. We have been taught by He who came to save, that His Father's name is Holy. “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.   Your kingdom come, your will be done,      on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread,   and forgive us our debts,      as we also have forgiven our debtors.   And lead us not into temptation,      but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9-13
